SENIOR CENTER CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY—Members of the Rockdale Senior Citizens Center got a head start on Friday by celebrating the Fourth of July with a barbecue meal cooked by Homer Mowdy (center in blue cap) with all the fixings provided by the center.
The date for the 2022 Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit has been set for August 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All are encouraged to attend.
Rockdale Rotary Club will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to adults wishing to further their education. Applicants must have graduated high school or received a GED prior to 2022.

FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE— After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the Lucky Hill Patterson Memorial Library restarted its First Friday Coffee last Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. The event was well attended and there were lots of goodies to eat and plenty of fresh coffee. The coffees are held on the first Friday of each month, and if you have a group or organization who wishes to sponsor a coffee, please call the library at 512-446-3410.
