Oney Toy Run set for Dec. 4

The 16th annual Buddy Oney Toy Run will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at The Ranch starting at 9 a.m. The Bad to the Bone Riders sponsor this event each year and have raised over $94,000 for the less fortunate children of Milam County.

Jazz party to be held on December 11

Vision Historic Preservation Foundation will present a unique fundraising event called the Lone Star Jazz Party at The 1895 (old city hall) on Burleson Street in historic downtown Rockdale.

Let the holidays begin

The temperature dropped just in time for the Rockdale Downtown Association’s (RDA) tree lighting last Thursday night. Attendees were served free chili cooked by Climate Control AC & Heating, free hot chocolate and cookies donated by Nathan Bland with Rollo Insurance.

21st annual Community Outreach Thanksgiving Dinner feeds Rockdale

The 21st annual Community Outreach Thanksgiving Dinner was held on Saturday at First Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. serving over 900 plates. When the event started it was first held at New Hope Baptist Church.

TEXAS PARKS & WILDLIFE GAME WARDEN FIELD NOTES

Sting operation In August, a concerned citizen contacted Montgomery County game wardens regarding a neighbor keeping an alligator in his back yard. The wardens responded to the home where the alligator was reportedly kept.
