Busy weekend around Rockdale
HAPPENINGS AROUND TOWN—The Community in Concert Band (above) provided music for the historical marker ceremony at the Chamber of Commerce on Sunday. The farmers market (at left and below) moved to its winter location on Burleson Street next to The 1895 on Saturday. Rockdale Earth Day had crepe myrtle trees planted (top and bottom right) at The Kay Theater on Saturday. The organization received a very generous donation from BVR-Brannon Industrial Group in Brenham so their next project will be planting more trees at the Rockdale One Stop. BVR-Brannon Industrial Group won the contract to take care of Rockdale’s garbage collection at a recent city council meeting.
