CAMERON—Milam County commissioners, meeting in a special session Thursday, heard County Judge Steve Young provide further details on his hope to consolidate most county offices into Cameron’s former hospital.

Museum gets visit, sets summer camp

CAMERON—It’s been a busy May for the Milam County Railroad Museum, located in downtown Cameron. Musician Pat Waters of “Drive Across Texas” fame stopped by to visit the museum and announced a summer camp for youngsters.

Service for grads at Baptist church A Sunday Baccalaureate service for the Rock-dale Class of 2019 will be held at Meadowbrook Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Baccalaureate is an old Latin word for a sermon and worship service designed specifically for graduates.

Heavenly Treasures Rockdale Christian Services “Heavenly Treasures” thrift store, 233 North Main, serves the needy with gently used clothing and household items at prices from 25 cents to $5. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A “$3 Bag Day” is held first Friday of each month.

Young musicians set annual spring concert Piano students of Dixie Whitmore will present their annual spring music program at 7 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 240 Green St. Whitmore said many different styles of music will be performed.

Scholarship golf tourney set for Saturday at RCC

MILANO NEWS The annual Milano ISD scholarship golf tournament will be held Saturday at the Rockdale Country Club. Cost is $75 per player and is a four-person scramble event. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
