Wanda and Al Coats joined Ray and Paula Coats and family in Bryan for a Christmas get-together Saturday afternoon. They then joined Kevin and Lori Coats and family in Bryan and on Sunday Sherri and James Rasco and James’ sister Joy, Jayne and Amon Bailey visited in the Coats’ home.

Many closings for Christmas

QUICK LOOK Just about everything is closing for the Christmas holiday on Tuesday. Rockdale, Milano and Gause students get out for the holiday on Friday, Thorndale St. Paul’s on Thursday and Thorndale ISD students are already out.

Christmas meal

The Fifth Annual Terri’s Touch of Christmas Spirit Day Meal, for shut-ins and elderly, is set for Christmas Day at Peace Lutheran Church. Volunteers should be at the church at 9:30 a.m. with plate pickup beginning at 10:30.  

DA seeking death penalty

Prosecutor Bill Torrey will seek the death penalty for a 30-year-old suspect who, after living in Rockdale for less then two months, has been charged with capital murder in the death of a 20-month-old toddler.

He’s on his way
