SO seizes $830,000 on 1712

It was a simple call to a vehicle parked in the middle of FM 1712. It resulted in the largest seizure of cash by law enforcement in Milam County history.

Churches set sunrise services Sunday

The Rockdale Ministerial Alliance is not holding a combined Easter Sunrise Service Sunday but several local and area congregations are planning such gatherings with the public invited to attend.

More legal action on US 79 ‘junkyard’

A long-standing situation involving what’s now been legally ruled a “junkyard” along US 79 in east Rock-dale is not over.

Coming to the Kay

Rockdale’s historic Kay Theater will be the site for Milam Community Theater’s final performance of “Twelve Incompetent Jurors” at 7 p.m. Saturday. The play is a spoof of the classic “Twelve Angry Men.” Doors open at 6:30. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at milamcommuntytheater.

Four sentenced in 20th District Court

CAMERON—Four persons were sentenced during the past week in 20th Distric Court, according to Prosecutor Bill Torrey who listed case dispositions as follows: • Julian Garces Costilla, 46, Rockdale, was sentenced to a two-year prison term after pleading guilty to DWI-third or more.

Car chase finally ends with arrest
