She married Truman Haupt of Winters in 1947. The two were married for 57 years. They made homes in Ballinger, Long Beach, California and Rockdale.

She was most notably a servant of Christ. As a member of First Christian Church, along with singing in the choir, she spent most Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays at the church serving lunch to the needy residents of Rockdale. It was a tradition for her to bring her family with her to the Christmas Eve candlelight service each year.
