Barbara Ann Beshears Hormuth, 87, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Round Rock. A rosary and visitation will be held Friday, July 24 , b eg i nning at 5:00 p.m. at Phillips & Lucke y Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Barbara was born on Feb. 19, 1939, in Evansville, Indiana, to Enfield and Geneva Beshears. She was the second of three children.

Barbara attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Reitz Memorial High School in Evansville in 1957.

After graduation, she worked brief ly as a telephone operator before marrying her high school sweetheart, Tom Hormuth, on Dec. 27, 1958. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work and love.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, serving in the St. Joseph Ladies Society, as a Eucharistic minister, and with the Ladies of Knights of Columbus Council 7014.

She especially enjoyed collecting and creating baskets for church bazaars and raffle s.

In her later years, Barbara enjoyed traveling on cruises with Tom, hosting family holidays and organizing cherished “Grandma Camps” during the summer. She also built a wonderful community of friends through her monthly bridge group in Rockdale. More than anything, Barbara treasured time spent with family and friends, sharing stories, laughter, and card games around the table.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Enfield and Geneva Beshears, and her younger brother, Gary Beshears.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Tom Hormuth; her brother, Robert Beshears of Evansville, Indiana; and her four children, Randy Hormuth and wife Cynthia of Horseshoe Bay, Richard Hormuth and wife Rhonda of Round Rock, Robert Hormuth and wife Julie of Salado, and Beth Menke and husband James of Austin.

She was the proud grandmother of Travis Hormuth and fiancée Blake Sayers, Tyler Hormuth and wife Tracy, Heather Boyd and husband Nick, Brandon Hormuth, Austin Hormuth, Kassi Hormuth, Walker Hormuth and wife Maddie, Holly Hormuth, Andrew Menke and wife Nicole, Bryan Menke and wife Rachel, Joseph Menke and wife Emma, and Audrey Menke.

Barbara was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren— Cameron Menke, Lucas Menke, John Allen Menke, Evelyn Menke, Hallie Menke, Bella Alvarado, Sophia Sayers and Marshall Hormuth.

Barbara’s legacy of faith, kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
