Funeral services for Hubert Anton Barcuch, 81, of Rockdale were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Burial with military honors will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Granger.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Phillips & Luckey.

Mr. Barcuch passed away on Saturday, Dec. 5, in Rockdale.

He was born Sept. 13, 1939, in Granger to Hubert Charles and Mary Tonie (Straka) Barcuch.

Mr. Barcuch moved to Rockdale in 2017 after spending his life in the Granger-Taylor area.

He graduated from Granger High School and retired after 25 years with Floyd’s Glass Co. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Barcuch was a very artistic man and a fabulous domino player who loved Czech music and loved to dance, especially polkas. He loved to cook, especially BBQ, and loved to hang with his friends at Aces and Crossroads in Granger and West End in Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Barcuch.

Mr. Barcuch is survived by his children, Sandra Rathke and husband Bobby of Center Point, Billy Stifflemire and husband Larry of Rockdale, Ron Barcuch and wife Melissa of Rockdale, Taffenie Walton and husband John of Taylor, Linda Avalos and husband Joe of Brady, Thomas Barcuch of Austin, James Barcuch and wife Kearsten of Round Rock and Michael Barcuch of Austin; his grandchildren, Robert Sanders, Kambra Perrin, Anthony Barcuch, Chelsea Barcuch, Ashley Barcuch, Aaron Barcuch, Kasey Scott, Jennifer Walton, Stefani Avalos and Johnathon Avalos; his great-grandchildren, Lauren Sanders, Kaden Perrin, Kierra Danek, Ryan Barcuch, Rhett Barcuch, Reid Barcuch, Aly Scott, Ty Scott, Jayda Leal, Pat Leal, Myah Leal and Michael Menchaca; also, his special friends, Kendall Clayton and Bentley Knoblock, who had sweet visits with him during his stay at Rockdale Estates. Kendall said she was his little girlfriend and Bentley was his bodyguard.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Barcuch, Aaron Barcuch, Robert Sanders, John Wuensche, Karl Wuensche and Chivo Avalos.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnathon Avalos and John Walton.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Rockdale Estates for their outstanding love and care throughout his stay.
