Barefield

Funeral services for Deloris Kay Green Barefield, 58, of Rockdale are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at Pecan Street Church of Christ in Rock-dale with Bro. John Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rock-dale.

Mrs. Barefield died Saturday, Dec. 8, at Seton Medical Center in Round Rock.

She was born Dec. 17, 1959, in the Griffin Chapel community to Bennie Cornelius and Gertharine (Black) Green Sr.

Mrs. Barefield attended Rockdale High School.

She married Kenneth Bare-field and she worked in home health as a nurse’s aide.

Mrs. Barefield enjoyed her family, cooking and preparing for family gatherings.

She was baptized at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Corpus Christi and was again baptized at Pecan Street Church of Christ in Rock-dale.

Mrs. Barefiled was preceded in death by her father, Cornelius Green; a sister, Dimple Ray Jones; and three brothers, Bennie Cornelius Green, Edward J. Green and Billy Chares Green.

Survivors are her husband, Kenneth Barefield of Rockdale; a daughter, Tiffany White of Tyler; three sons, Roy White Jr. and wife Sharee of Oak Harbor, Washington, Joshua Gwyn of Cameron, Phillip Barefield of Temple; 10 grandchildren, Joseph, Madison, Victoria, Quintrell, Byron, Javion, Bralyn, Zayd, Krista and Mia; her mother, Gertharine Green of Rockdale; five sisters, Juanita Rogers and husband Joe of Houston, Ethel Mae Shelton of Corpus Christi, Vera Nell Sanders of Rockdale, Mary Louise Butler and husband Pinky of Tyler, Doris August and husband Leroy of Webster; three brothers, Elias Green and wife Margaret, Ronnie Green, Richard Green and wife Becky, all of Rockdale; also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Blair Bradley, Damon Jackson, Patrick Butler, Stephen Allen, Clay Ware and Ira Hall.

Honorary pallbearers are Roy White Jr., Elias Green, Joshua Gwyn, Ronnie Green, Phillip Barefield, Richard Green, Morgan Smith and Anthony Shelton.
