Bennett

Eula Bee Bennett, 90, of Rockdale died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Renaissance Villa in Rockdale.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale, with Rev. Matt Higginbotham of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed at Marlow Cemetery near Cameron.

Mrs. Bennett was born March 4, 1928, in Cameron to Joseph Franklin and Cordelia (Andrews) Thompson. She was raised in Cameron and moved to Rockdale, where she lived the past 60 years.

On Feb. 18, 1945, she married Willie Percell Bennett in Corpus Christi. To this union four children were born.

Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and had also worked at a sewing factory in Cameron.

She was a member of Rock-dale Full Gospel Church.

She loved cooking, quilting and her church and enjoyed the company that came to visit her.

Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband Willie on June 7, 2015; her parents; a grandson, Jonathan Simmons; four brothers, Jack Thompson, Joe Thompson, Marvin Thompson and Billy Thompson; and three sisters, Lillie Belle Templin, Dorothy Cook and Thelma Marek.

Survivors are a son, Clark “Rusty” Bennett and wife Debbie of Rockdale; three daughters, Patsy vonGonten and husband Stanley of Rockdale, Becky Shuffield and husband Larry of Temple, KK Hendrix and husband Joe of Rock-dale; 11 grandchildren, Sharon Abbot, Scott Shuffield, Steve Shuffield, Shannon Clark, Nikki Niemann, Mikey Simmons, Paxton Hendrix, Wendi Offield, Amy Fine, Billy Bennett and Donnie Bennett; 18 great-grandchildren, Blake Niemann, Blayne Niemann, Blade Niemann, Jr. Strelsky, Kaylee Maloy, Madison Maloy, Victoria Smith, Conner Shuffield, Hannah Shuffield, Landon Shuffield, Dalton, Michaela Bennett, Destiny Bennett, Justin Offield, Carson Offield, Mason Hendrix, Avery Hendrix, Jessica Charanza and Austin Donaldson; and seven great-great-grandchildren, Ean Carrasco, Kylan Niemann, Brooklynn Garcia, Jaxson Niemann, Kaylyn Niemann, Gregory Strelsky and Joleen Donaldson.

Pallbearers were Steve Shuffield, Scott Shuffield, Billy Bennett, Donnie Bennett, Paxton Hendrix and Mike Offield.
