Kay Ellen Bow died peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, after a brief battle with cancer.

Visitation is set for 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Patterson Civic Center, 609 Mill Ave., Rockdale, followed by a brief celebration of life service.

Ms. Bow was born in Houston on June 5, 1957, to Kenneth (Skeet) and LeJean (Zoch) Quinney.

In 1962, she moved to Rockdale and attended school through sixth grade. The family then moved to Lexington, where she graduated from Lexington High School in 1975.

Ms. Bow was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

She was a born caregiver to many sick and elderly people. She also opened her heart and hands to taking care of working parents children.

Ms. Bow volunteered with the American Cancer Society and was a past Daisy/Girl Scout troop leader. She was an excellent organizer of fundraising event and she was always willing to help in time of need.

She was an avid romance novel reader. She had a very creative mind and made beautiful flower arrangements, wreaths and mums. She enjoyed going to antique shows and festivals of all kinds.

Ms. Bow was preceded in death by her dad in 2013.

Survivors are three sons, Kevin Bow of Rockdale, Kolby Bow (Reagan) of Buda, Kyle Bow (Meggie) of Thorndale; her mother and best friend, LeJean Quinney of Rockdale; a sister, Gaye Bland (Charles) of Rockdale; a brother, Bo Quinney of Rockdale; a sister-in-law, Kathy Quinney of Rockdale; five grandchildren, Kallen, Korbin and Kyla Kate Bow of Thorn-dale, Macartney and Easton Bow of Buda; her nephews, Clayton Bland (Christy), Kirk and Koy Quinney, all of Rockdale; a niece, Caryn Bland Rippstein (Clay) of Austin; and her great-nieces and nephews, Karsyn, Kady and Kynleigh Bland, Casslyn and Cagen Rippstein, Darren and Jase Easley and Hayden Kaatz.
