A memorial service for Sher-ion Darlene Brown, 75 of Lexington is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan.

12, 2020, at Lexington Faith Temple Church in Lexington with Pastor Ronnie Richter officiating.

Darlene passed away peacefully at home and now has a heavenly birthday of Jan. 6, 2020.

Darlene Brown had an earthly birthday of Jan. 6, 1945, in Normangee. She was one of four children born to Frank Burlin and Lola Spikes Burlin.

She married W.A. Brown on June 1, 1960. From this union they had three children, Linda Smith, Randy Brown, and Terry Brown, all of Lexington.

Darlene was a beautician in Lexington for many years, cutting hair and piercing ears.

She loved animals and there was not an animal she would not take care of. The game warden would bring any and all rescued animals to her to nurse back to health.

She spent many years serving her community as an Emergency Medical Technician with the Lexington Volunteer EMS. Her medical assistance continued as she helped others through a home health agency.

In her spare time, she loved sewing, gardening, growing and canning vegetables.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. A. Brown; parents, Frank and Lola Burlin; a brother, Donnie Joe Burlin and wife, Dot; and sister, Debbie Burlin Tate.

Darlene is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith and Wayne Pittman of Lexington; sons, Randy and Charlotte Brown of Lexington, and Terry Brown of Lexington; a brother, Damon Burlin of Lexington; also, nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Jackson, Frank Taylor, Kerry Bexley, Butch Malone, Aaron Kleinschmidt, Zane Kleinschmidt and (Little) Willie Shelton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lexington Faith Temple, Resolutions Hospice or think of your own mom and send her flowers.
