Cantwell

Rosie Cantwell, 68, of Rockdale died Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Winnie L Nursing Home in Cameron.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at First Baptist Church in Rockdale with Rev. Matt Higginbotham officiating.

Ms. Cantwell was born Jan. 29, 1954, in San Patricio to Juana (Jimenez) and Francisco Torres Jr.

She was a homemaker and member of First Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by a son, Francisco Joe Torres; her mother, Juana Jimenez; her father, Francisco Torres Jr.; and her stepfather, Pedro Reyna.

Survivors are her children, Victoria Ann Valdez and husband Grant of Houston, Jesus Valdez Jr. and wife Tawana, Jennifer Marie Valdez, all of Rockdale, Francisco Valdez of Roswell, New Mexico, Roxanne Birdsong, Johnny Valdez and wife Nereyda and Rosie Marie Applin, all of Abilene; her sisters, Victoria Rogers and husband David of Del Valle, Cristella Torres of Austin; a brother, Francisco Torres and wife Consuelo; a number of grandchildren, including Rodrick, Cristala, Rosie, Aquino, Johnnaee, Anthony, Thomas, James, Jennifer, Christopher, Damien, Dasmine, Esau, Elijah, Kaleb, Kamilla and Mercedes; and numerous great-grandchildren, including Anthony Jr., Aaliyah, Jazmine, Dallas, Sabrina and Josiah.
