Caroline May Mills Jones, 77, of Thorndale passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Will O’ Bell Nur sing Home in Bartlet t , af ter a shor t bat t le with dementia.
Caroline was born on March 5, 1949, to the late James and Vissie Mills.
Caroline met her late husband, Charlie, in the summer of 1969, and they married December 6, 1969. Together they had two children, Lisa and Ricky.
She worked as a caregiver for over 30 years.
Caroline was a social butterfly who loved making new friends wherever she went.
Her favorite hobbies included genealogy research, helping organize family reunions and being behind the camera taking pictures at family events. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-granddaughters were the light of her life.
Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jones; her parents, James and Vissie Mills; her sister, Kathy Shannon; and her brother, Frank Mills.
She is survived by her sister, Nora Folsom; her daughter, Lisa (Jones) Heselmeyer and husband Steven; her son, Ricky Jones and wife Jennifer; her granddaughter, Samantha (Jones) Hanners and husband Dustin; her grandson, Jordan Jones and fiancé Kiley; her great-granddaughters, McKenna Hanners and Raeleigh Jones; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale on May 13, with Rev. Clint Neighbors officiating. Burial followed at Sharp Cemetery.
In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Caroline’s name to a charity of your choice.
Pallbearers were Jordan Jones, Dustin Hanners, Ross Latta, Sean Folsom, Kevin Jones and Bobby Jones.
