Jeannette Martine Cooper, 84, of Rockdale, formerly of Hearne, passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 26, 2021, in the Rockdale Estates & Rehabilitation.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Elliott Cemetery near Hearne with Pastor Dale Wells Jr. of Elliott Baptist Church officiating.

Visitation will also be Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. in Elliott Baptist Church.

Jeannette was born June 26, 1937, in Robertson County to Thomas Maurice and Mary Ellen (Upshaw) Martine. She was one of eight children.

On June 5, 1955, she and Dennis Richmond Cooper were married in Hearne, where they made their home until 2011 when they moved to Rockdale.

While in Hearne, Jeannette was a social worker with Texas Department of Human Services. She owned and operated a day care, would substitute teach and was a full-time mom.

She was a long-standing member of Elliott Baptist Church.

Jeannette was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Maurice and Mary Ellen Martine; her husband, Dennis on Nov. 19, 2017; and six brothers.

Surviving are her sons, James Cooper and Lupe Cantu of Bryan, Donald Cooper and fiancé Amy Riley of Franklin, Dennis Cooper and wife Dina of Bryan; her daughters, Denise Sifuentes and husband Ralph of Rockdale, Janet Cooper of Rockdale; a sister, Geraldine Hancock of Elliott; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Cooper of Bryan; 14 grandchildren, Nicole and Eric Gimon, Jerod and Roseann Sifuentes, Alecia Alvarado, Brianna and David Hoang, Amanda and John Wilson, Melanie and Daniel Ditto, Shelbie Cooper, Donyelle Cooper, Courtney and James Minor, Christina Minor, Trey Hughes, Caleb Hughes, Meaghan and Michael Curry, Heather and Tyler Hutton; and 20 great-grandchildren, Brendon Sifuentes, Breanne Sifuentes, Emily Alvarado, Aubree Alvarado, Adrian Alvarado, Harvey Hoang, Baby Boy Hoang on the way, Madisyen Miller, Tyler Wilson, Jaxon Ditto, Cooper Ditto, Elliot Minor, Ella Minor, Evie Minor, Xander Hughes, Bryce Taylor, Cole Tacker, Lucas Curry, Michael Curry III and Erin Curry.
