Correa Santellano

Mass for John Correa Santellano Sr., 67, of Rock-dale was held Saturday, April 27, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock-dale with Father Edwin Kagoo, Deacon Don Sims and K.C. member Leon Dubey officiating. Cremation followed the mass.

Rosary was recited Friday, April 26, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Santellano died Wednesday, April 24, at his home in Rockdale.

He was born July 12, 1951, in Cameron to Alex and Cecila (Correa) Santellano Sr.

Mr. Santellano attended Yoe High School in Cameron until his junior year and then received his GED. He attended TSTI in Waco, where he graduated with a cat diesel mechanic degree with hydraulics, welding and air conditioning.

His first job was with Cameron International Farm Equipment and he later worked at Alcoa in Rockdale in the mechanics garage. He retired in 2007 after 32 years.

On Oct. 31, 1969, he married Janie Rios in Cameron.

Mr. Santellano was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and minister of Holy Communion.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus, fourth degree, and United Steel Workers Union.

Mr. Santellano was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Cecil Santellano.

Survivors are his wife, Janie Rios Santellano of Rockdale; four sons, John C. Santellano Jr. and wife Lisa of Niederwald, Mark P. Santellano and wife Maria, Chris Rios Santellano and Carlos R. Santellano, all of Rockdale; six grandchildren, Christena M. Santellano, Anna Marie Santellano, Mariana Santellano, Marcos Santellano, Mario Santellano and Kaylin Santellano; and three great-grandchildren, Aleenia Marie White, Lane Schneider and K’Lee Marie Davidson.

Pallbearers were William Smith, Robert Flores Sr., Randy Castillo, Cecil Santellano Jr., Ricky Santellano and Jamie Flores. Honorary pallbearer was Glen Maul-din.
