Courtney Montice Evans, 39, of Rockdale passed away on June 24, 2026.

A funeral service celebrating her life wi ll be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Phi l lips & Lucke y Funeral Home with Bro. Ernest Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Courtney was born Aug. 16, 1986, in Rockdale to Tammy D. Grayson. She was lovingly raised by her devoted father, Richard A. Green, whose guidance, unconditional love, and unwavering support helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

She is also survived by her biological father, Kip Harris.

Courtney shared a special and loving relationship with her husband, John Richards.

Together they were blessed with their greatest joy— their son, Richlin Amir Richards. Above all else, Courtney cherished being a mother.

Her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, compassionate spirit, and caring heart were gifts to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

For more than 20 years, Courtney dedicated her life to caring for others through her work in the medical field. She was a certified nurse assistant and also earned certification as a medication aide after completing her training in Temple.

During her school years in Rockdale, Courtney was a cheerleader in junior high and proudly served as a Golden Girl at Rockdale High School.

Courtney was preceded in death by her beloved father, Richard A. Green; her maternal grandfather, Daniel E. Grayson; her paternal grandmother, Mae Hellen Harris; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Richlin Amir Richards; her husband, John Richards; her mother, Tammy D. Green; her biological father, Kip Harris; her grandmother, Lettha F. Grayson; her sisters, Alexis S. M. Green of Rockdale and D’mitriuna D. Green of Houston; her cherished nieces, Kali, Kennedy, Za’Riyah, and Ezellia; her beloved nephews, Omari and Maximus; and numerous extended family members and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, love, and generous spirit.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Allen III, David Allen, Donald Ray Allen Jr., Andreas Evans, Darrel R. Coleman Jr., Michael D. Coleman, Ernest Evans Sr., Isaac Dixon and Kip Davis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Dixon, James Evans, Jefferson Grayson, David Grayson Jr., Anthony Davis, Ricky Payton, Christopher Evans and Damon Evans.
