Rev. Gerald “Jerry” Clyde Criddle, 77, of Bryan graduated to his reward at 8:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021, at his home in Bryan with the love of his life, Jeannie Criddle, by his side.

Visitation will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 2.

A home-going celebration will be held at Apostolic Faith Church in Rockdale at 10 a.m. Monday, May 3. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Jerry was born Dec. 22, 1943, to William Clyde and Mabel Criddle, who proceeded him in death.

He graduated from Rockdale High School in 1963.

He attended Midwest Bible Institute in Webb City, Missouri. While in Bible School he traveled, preaching revivals and sharing the Word to win the lost. Jerry spent 60 years in the ministry and had one driving desire which was to preach the Gospel and win the lost.

Jerry spent his working years as a janitor to supplement pastoring small churches in Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.

He retired from Blinn College in Bryan in 2004.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and twin sisters, Willene and Clydene.

Survivors are his wife, Jean Criddle of Bryan; a son, William Criddle and wife Anneya and grandson Westin of Leander; a stepdaughter, Lannette Hitt and husband Shawn of Denver, Colorado; and two stepsons, Nathaniel Roach and wife Sarah of Brewton, Alabama, Matthew Roach and wife Shana of Chelsea, Oklahoma; also, 16 step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

Jerry loved his stepchildren and grandchildren as his own. He delighted in their visits and the children brought him much joy.
