Vester Lowell Crocker, 90, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, in Temple.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 29, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial was in Minerva Cemetery.

Mr. Crocker was born in Union, Mississippi, on April 25, 1930, to William Sylvester Crocker and Lillie Mae Warren.

Even though he did not receive a higher education because he had to go to work at the age of 12 years old, he became a successful businessman doing work with major corporations.

He owned at least three companies with the latest one still in business even though he was 90-1/2 years old.

For over 50 years, Mr. Crocker was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints and was a bishop and branch president for many years. He worked more than 40 hours a week serving his Lord Jesus Christ.

Mr. Crocker was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillie Mae; three sisters, Annie Mae, Ola Mae and Julie Faye; two brothers, William Ray and Paul; and a son, Randy Crocker.

Survivors are his wife, Janice Peay Crocker; a sister, Mabel McKnight; four daughters, Betty Leslie and husband Ken, Wanda Smith and husband Çarl, Vickie Sechrengost and husband Charles, and Debra Crocker; and seven grandchildren, Wendy, Carolyn, Bill, Danny, Jason, Jay and Rachel; also, 14 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
