George Cuba, 78, died at his Thorndale residence on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home. Burial was at Detmold Cemetery.

Mr. Cuba lived in Thorn-dale for most of his life.

He was born Nov. 9, 1941, in Anton to O.R. “Tom” Cuba and Pauline J. (Kovar) Cuba.

He married Betty Heine on Feb. 18, 1960, in Laredo.

Mr. Cuba was a carpenter and millwright.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Pauline Cuba; a brother, Tommy E, Cuba; two brothers-in-law, Cline Freiling and David Eubanks; and a sister-in-law, Terry Cuba.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Cuba of Thorndale; a son, Russell Cuba of Thorn-dale; two daughters, Lara Machele Harrison and husband Steve of Round Rock, Lannette Arlene Brumbelow of Thorndale; a brother, Eugene Cuba of Pasadena; four sisters, Marie Freiling of Rockdale, Betty M. Havens and husband Ken of Alvin, Sue Eubanks of the Salty community and Linda K. Worley and husband Kit of San Gabriel; and his grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Rebecca, Aaron, Brooke, Shelby and Haley; also, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ronal Cuba, Greg Guthrie, Chris Guthrie, Dave Eubanks, Scotty Neiman, Jason Worley and Lanny Worley.
