Funeral services for Annie T. Darby, 87, were held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Father Pedro Castillo and Deacon Gus Coelho of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Burial was at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Rosary was recited Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the funeral home.

Mrs. died Monday, Sept. 24, at her home.

She was born May 5, 1931, in Sweet Home to John Joe and Frances (Fait) Pekar.

On Nov. 18, 1950, she married Lee Roy Darby in Sweet Home. They came to Rockdale in 1959, where they opened Rockdale Floor Covering in 1961, and worked until Mr. Darby’s retirement.

Mrs. Darby was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, her cows, (which were more like pets), and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Darby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Roy Darby on Jan. 4, 1995; seven sisters, Rosie Pekar, Matilda Kutach, Lillie Melnar, Frances Hermes, Nora Dolezal, Janie Migl and Toni Kopecky; and a brother, Charlie Pekar.

Surviving are two daughters, Charlotte Mueck and husband Joe, and Gloria Bishop, all of Taylor; two sons, Gary Darby and wife Jody Lynn, Jody W. Darby and wife Jean, all of Rock-dale; two brothers, Johnnie Pekar of Sweet Home, Robert Pekar of Schertz; a sister, Mary Long of Leander; eight grandchildren, Sara Stiles and husband Jason of Thorndale, Brian Dennis and wife Lindsay of Boerne, Catherine Cox and husband David of Taylor, Josh Darby and wife Rachel of West Allis, Wisconsin, Maggie Darby, Charles Darby and wife Patti, all of Rockdale, Chris Darby and Kara of Columbus, Ohio, Ben Darby and wife Kaeley of Minerva; and seven great-grandchildren, Preston Dennis, Sophia Darby, Raelyn Cox, Taylor Dennis, Connor Stiles, Allison Darby and Madelyn Darby.

Pallbearers were Charles Darby, Christopher Darby, Brian Dennis, Jason Stiles, David Cox and Ben Darby.

Honorary pallbearers were Preston Dennis, Charles Matula, Paul Cub-stead, Joe Gerlich, J.C. Hermes and Dennis Melnar.
