Burge Darwin, age 54, beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away at his home in Atascocita on June 18, 2020.

Burge was born in Houston on Dec. 15, 1965, to William (Bill) and Jane Darwin.

He was an accomplished welder and turn-around planner/supervisor and photographer.

His faith was his greatest strength.

Burge loved spending time with his wife, kids and grandkids. He loved to travel and had taken many trips over the past few years between outages. He was an avid arrowhead hunter and had many finds over the years that he loved to show. Burge’s photography had become his passion and all who experienced his grace with a camera are better for it.

Following his many years of traveling, he and wife D’Andra had settled in Atascocita, a beautiful neighborhood in northeast Harris County.

Burge will be missed by wife D’Andra; children Preston and Kelly Darwin, Matt and Beverly Bordman, Ross and Ashley Newland; grandchildren Landon Theriot, Bentlee Darwin, Ensley Darwin, Casey Laird and Peighton Newland.

Burge is survived by a brother, Owen Smith and wife Donna, and sister Ann Darwin Shew and husband Al.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill, and mother, Jane, and his brother, William Darwin Jr.

Although Burge loved flowers and nature, he wanted donations to be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Hospital, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210- 4486 or American Cancer Society, 963 N. FM 908, Rockdale, TX 76567 (local association).

Graveside services were held Sunday, June 21, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Minerva with Pastor Luther Shelander and Pastor Ken Ansell officiating.

Pallbearers were Jeff Whiteley, James Denman, Brad Gest, Paul Skubal, David Moses and Steven Steel.
