David Eubanks Sr.

David Eubanks Sr., 83 of Salty died Monday, June 17, 2019, at Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Greg Spears of Milam County Cowboy Church officiating. Burial will be at Salty Cemetery.

Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the funeral home.

Mr. Eubanks was born July 26, 1935, in High Point, Mississippi, to Willie H. “Bill” and Lucille (Fisher) Eubanks.

He was a graduate of Thorn-dale High School and served in the National Guard.

On June 13, 1964, he married Sue Cuba in Pasadena.

Mr. Eubanks worked as an atomizer operator with Alcoa’s Rockdale Operations.

He was a trail boss who was always ready for a trail ride. He raised thoroughbred horses and was involved in horse racing.

Mr. Eubanks enjoyed coon hunting and buying, repairing and selling John Deere tractors.

Mr. Eubanks was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lucille Eubanks, and a brother, Billy Eubanks.

Survivors are his wife, Sue Eubanks; a son, David Eubanks and wife Shannon of Salty; a daughter, Myra Niemann and husband Scott of Thorndale; a brother, Donald Eubanks and wife Sharon of Odessa; and three grandchildren, Dakota Eubanks, Kylie Eubanks and Kassidy Eubanks; also, a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Reese, Gene Ross, Gene Cuba, Kit Worley, John Olson and Bill Cardwell.

Honorary pallbearers are Hershal McCoy, Eddie Barcak, Roy Perrard, Harry Jordan and Stanley Hairston.
