Dessens

Norma Jean Dessens, 87, of Houston died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at Gardens of Bellaire Nursing Home in Houston.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Aug. 25, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale, along with a celebration of life for her son, Steven Dessens.

Mrs. Dessens was born Oct. 29, 1932, in Taylor to Adolph and Clara (Haverland) Eulenfeld.

On Nov. 22, 1953, she married Bill Dessens in Taylor.

She worked as an executive secretary for Palais Royal in Houston.

Mrs. Dessens was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Clara Eulenfeld; her husband, Bill Dessens on June 16, 2014; and a son, Steven Dessens on Jan. 12, 2018.

Surviving are two sons, David Dessens and wife Lisa of Winnipeg, Canada, Mark Dessens and wife Yvette of Houston; a half-sister, Janice Gambill and husband Dale of Austin; and four grandchildren, Adrien Dessens, Derek Dessens, Kyle Dessens and Sean Dessens
