Donna Kay McGee

Donna Kay McGee was a caring and loving wife, mama, Nonna, sister, and friend.

She left this world on Oct. 8, 2023, at the age of 65.

Donna was born to Don and Neta Faye Hall on Sept. 27, 1958.

She attended Rockdale High School before marrying her high school sweetheart, David, on Aug. 10, 1974. Together, they had four children—Scott, Amanda, Melissa and Hilary.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fairfi eld for many years.

Donna was famous for her sugar cookies and holiday candies.

She loved curling up on the couch and getting lost in a good Stephen King novel.

Donna loved sewing, whether it be clothes, burp cloths for every baby shower, or creating items for the house.

She loved attending all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was their biggest cheerleader.

Donna spent many years babysitting and loved those kids like her own.

Donna was very kind and loved meeting new people and getting to know them.

Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father, Don and Neta Hall of Marquez; her stepmother, Barbra Hall of Fairfield; her mother and father-inlaw, Orville and Katherine Marshall of Rockdale; her sister, Shirley Alexander of Rockdale; and her brother, Dean Hall of Marquez.

Donna left behind her loving husband of 49 years, David McGee; son Scott McGee and wife Chelsea; daughters Amanda McLellan and husband Shane, Melissa Boyle and husband Matt, Hilary McGee, and Emily McGee; her pride and joy the “Fun Bunch” Chloe McLellan, Olivia McGee, Travis McLellan, Braxton Burns, Bryce Boyle, Blake Boyle and Benjamin Boyle; and siblings, Sherry Bell, Karen Smith, Debra Gersbach and Don Hall Jr.; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield.
