Drinkard

B.M. Drinkard of Rockdale passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021.

He was born in Bermuda (TX) on Aug. 17, 1923, and was 98 years of age.

B.M. was proud to serve in the U.S. Army Air Corps and enlisted when he was only 17 years old. B.M. fought on D-Day in bombing missions, as a gunner, on an A-20 Havoc Bomber during World War II.

He was married to his sweetheart, Tiny Sue, until she passed away on Aug. 26, 2016.

He was a dedicated chemist for Mobil Oil and later retired with a total of 10 chemical patents.

He was an excellent provider for his family and was a patriot who deeply loved God, his family and his country.

B.M. was preceded in death by his wife, Tiny Sue Drinkard; and by his three sons, Donald Drinkard, David Drinkard and Thomas Drinkard.

Survivors include his daughters-in-law, Beverly Drinkard and Janet Drinkard; his grandchildren, Kym Eldredge and husband Jim, David Allen Drinkard and wife Jessica, Kelly Martin and fiancé Pete, Kerri Gabert and husband Brandon, Michelle Balfour and husband Adam, Mark Drinkard and wife Sara; his great-grandchildren, Kristian Puckett and husband Derek, Drake Mercer, Karson Martin, Brittney Drinkard and fiancé Chad, Kristen Drinkard, Jessie Drinkard, Chase Peddy, Kelsey Pigg and Kenneth Pigg, Stella Lachlen, Remi Lachlen and Felix Balfour, Lucy Drinkard, Nate Drinkard, Cole Drinkard; and his great-great-grandchildren, Hank Puckett, Ellie Puckett, Lucas Gabert, Lauren Gabert, Jackson Pigg and Jesse Pigg.

The family is forever indebted to his caregiver, Tiffany Crosby, who provided care and comfort in his final years.

A gathering of B.M. Drinkard’s family and friends was held Sunday, Aug. 29, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
