Du Bois

Boyce L. Du Bois, 88, of Panorama Village passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at his home.

Ser v ic e s were held Sunday, Dec. 18, at Phillips & Lucke y Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Roy Dillard officiating. Burial followed at Sandy Creek Cemetery near Rockdale.

Mr. Du Bois was born July 3, 1934, in Rockdale to Albert Joseph and Edna Mae (Eiland) Du Bois.

He served in the U.S. Navy from August 1952 to July 1956.

Mr. Du Bois received his master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Houston.

On Jan. 9, 1959, he married Elizabeth Claudette Smith in Houston.

He worked as an electronic engineer in government communications. He retired to Milano, then Rockdale, then to Panorama Village to be closer to family.

Mr. Du Bois enjoyed ranching, substituting at Milano High School and his passion was reading and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edna Mae Du Bois; a son, Philip Jean Du Bois; a brother, Thomas Du Bois; and a sister, Joann Newbury.

Survivors are his wife, Elizabeth Du Bois of Panorama Village; a son, Michael Du Bois and wife Debra of Panorama Village; a brother, Joe Du Bois of Milano; a sister, Loretta Glenn of The Woodlands; his grandchildren, Justin Du Bois and wife Christina and Travis Du Bois and wife Whitney; his step-grandchildren, Devin Davis and wife Nicki, Derek Davis and wife Julie, Delana Davis and husband Jared; his great-grandchildren, Brady and Olivia; his step-great-grandchildren, Lil’ Devin, Delaney, Dakota, Ella, D.J., Weston, Nolan and Alana Davis; and a nephew, T.J. Du Bois; along with a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers were Justin Du Bois, Travis Du Bois, Devin Davis, Derek Davis, T.J. Du Bois and Ray Weikel.
