CAMERON—Frankie Joe Ehler, 92, of Cameron died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019. in a Temple veterans nursing facility.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 4, at St. Monica’s Catholic Church. Entombment will be at St. Monica’s Mausoleum.

Rosary was recited Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home during visitation.

A retired farmer and rancher, Mr. Ehler was born on April 22, 1927, in Floresville, to Richard and Sophie (Klasek) Ehler.

He worked for McLane Wholesale and then for E.R. Carpenter until retirement.

Mr. Ehler was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church, the VFW, American Legion, a former board member of the Milam County Junior Livestock Show and Salem Elm Ridge Water Corp.

Mr. Ehler was a Dallas Cowboy fan who enjoyed fishing and playing dominoes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Ehler, in 1988.

Survivors are two sons, David Ehler and Charles Ehler, both of Rockdale; a daughter, Rosemary Liska of Three Rivers; and a sister, Marjorie Mueck of Waco; also, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
