Ellis

Arthur Leon Ellis, 72, of Rockdale died Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, in Rockdale.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 28, at Pecan Street Church of Christ in Rockdale with Bro. John Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mr. Ellis was born Oct. 27, 1949, to Leroy and Annie Pearl (Lilly) Ellis in Leesville, Louisiana. He attended Vernon High School before integrating into Leesville High School.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army.

On May 23, 1997, he married Pamela Elaine Jackson in Cameron. They spent 19 years together until her death on Jan. 13, 2017.

Mr. Ellis was a member of Pecan Street Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Annie Ellis; his wife, Pamela Ellis; a son, Antonavas Morris; and a sister, “Acquanella” Janiece Washington.

Surviving him is a sister, Loretha Bagley of Round Rock.

Pallbearers will be Calvin Jones, Joel Williams, Jermaine Bagley, Elton Harris, Tyree Barragan, Tremaine Scott and Shondalera Basken.

Honorary pallbearers are L.C. Richards, Henry Taylor Sr.,and Dennis Butler.
