Espinosa

On Sept. 15, 2021, Robert Espinosa, beloved father of Staci Parker, big brother of three brothers and six sisters, passed away at the age 77.

Robert was born in Taylor on Sept. 9, 1944, to Antonio (Tony) and Mary Hernandez Espinosa.

He graduated salutatorian from Thorndale High School in 1963 and received a bachelor of arts degree in 1967 from the University of Texas at Austin.

After graduating from UT, Robert joined the U.S. Navy in 1968 where he served as a hospital corpsman third class at the Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton, Florida.

Robert was a man of many talents who loved to read and learn all of his life.

He could build, carve, design, and put together almost any type of wood project. He loved to fish and often crafted his own fishing gear including lures and rods. He taught many of his nephews and nieces how to fi s h .

He enjoyed country western music and often spent time sharing a beer, a tall tale and listening to his favorite songs at a local tavern.

Robert worked at Thorndale Lumber Co. for many years and was well known in the Thorndale community. He loved his hometown, Thorndale.

He loved his family dearly and would recall the songs that his uncles sang whenever they gathered at his grandmothers’ during his childhood.

Robert will be remembered and missed by family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Tony; his mother, Mary; and a sister, also named Mary.

He is survived by daughter Staci, grandchildren Jacob and Jadyn, brothers Alfred, James, Johnny, sisters Gloria, Angelina, Irene, Estella, Josefina and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
