Manuel “Manny” Evans, 63, of Rockdale, formerly of Marlin, died Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at his home in Rockdale.

Memorial services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Visitation will also be Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Evans was born Nov. 22, 1956, in Otto to Malachi and Tommie Lee (Watson) Evans. He graduated from Marlin

He graduated from Marlin High School.

In November 1976, he began his service in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in November 1980 as a Specialist 4.

On Oct. 12, 1998, he married Dorothy Williams in Rockdale.

Mr. Evans worked as a steel subcontractor with Perry & Perry Builders in Rockdale for the past three years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Malachi and Tommie Lee Evans; a daughter, Linda Harris; seven brothers, John Paul, Elmo, Shane, Curtis, Charles Lee, Malachi and Nathaniel; and five sisters, Josie, Bobbie Jean, Verna Ray, Lola Fay and Peggy Ann.

Survivors are his wife, Dorothy Williams Evans of Rockdale; two sons, Manuel Williams of Rockdale, Andreus Evans of Killeen; three brothers, Lee Edward Evans, Ronnie Earl Evans and Kenneth Evans, all of Marlin; two sisters, Letha Fay Grayson and Edna Jean Davis, both of Marlin; 11 grandchildren, Rueben Walker, Desiree Harris, Aalyah Harris, Tammarah Williams, Jadon Lewis, Jamal Clark, Justin Williams and Heather, Jasia Rubin, Jacorian Williams, Weldon Beard and William Beard; and 13 great-grandchildren, Ja’Liyah Walker, K’Mari Walker, Raniya Walker, Ashlyn Walker, Trinidy Walker, Kimiah, Zimiah, Jaliyah, Sevyn, Kionterious, Jace, Jiraiya and Brayden.
