Evans-Thompson

Nancy Evans-Thompson, 72, of Rockdale passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020 in Cameron.

She was born on Sept. 27, 1947 to Jack F., Sr. and Laura A. (Lanford) Lands in Houston.

She worked as a nurse. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star 23 in Rockdale, a lifetime member and past president of the VFW Post 10376, and a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 351.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack F., Sr. and Laura A. Lands; two sons, Clayton Alton Evans and Richard Dean Evans; and three brothers, Jack F. Lands, Jr., Gerald Wayne Lands, and Thomas Lloyd Lands.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Ken Clark of Rockdale; sons, Marcus Evans and wife Delaine of Katy, Thomas J. Thompson and wife Katy of Cedar Park and James A. Thompson and wife Amanda of Puyallup, WA; her bonus son, Travis Clark and wife Katie of Round Rock; sister, Joyce Roberts of Rockdale; grandchildren, Macey Evans, Marley Evans, Derek Evans, Nic Evans, Spencer Evans, Austin Evans, Shelby Evans, Leah Claire Thompson, Maxwell Thompson, Rielly Thompson, Declan Thompson, Pete Clark and Ben Clark; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Feb. 29, 2020 Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Barry Methvin officiating, followed by a funeral service. Burial followed at Murray Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Derek Evans, Nic Evans, Spencer Evans, Austin Evans, Rodney Lucas and Michael Grant, honorary pallbearers are David Lands, Eddie Roberts, Mark Dickerson, Donald Dickerson, Jerry Stovall, Doug Lucas, Robert Penney, Tom Lanford, Jr., Jim Lanford and Mike Lanford.
