Fuessel

Funeral services for Henry Fuessel Jr., 70, of Thorndale, were held Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Pastor Scott Schaller of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Detmold Cemetery near Thorndale.

Mr. Fuessel died Thursday, Nov. 11, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock.

He was born June 16, 1951, in Taylor to Erwin Henry and Vangia Lee (Taylor) Fuessel Sr.

Mr. Fuessel was a lifelong Thorndale resident.

On June 5, 1971, he married Janette Raven at St. John Lutheran Church in Thorndale.

He was a farmer who loved what he did every day. For the past several years after his retirement, he helped Greg Hengst with his farm.

Mr. Fuessel was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, a supporter of Thorndale High School activities, and spent time fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Vangia Fuessel Sr.; his grandparents; a niece, Ginger Patschke; and brother-in-law, Clifford Patschke.

Survivors are his wife, Janette Fuessel of Thorndale; two daughters, Kathye Fuessel of Thorndale, Wendy Fuessel Kovar and husband Jason of Thorndale; a son, Casey Fuessel of Thorndale; a granddaughter, Kennedy Kovar; a brother, Richard Fuessel and wife Gracie of Thorndale; and a sister, Janice Patschke of Bartlett; also, a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jason Kovar, Greg Hengst, Clint Chapman, Butch Fuessel, Carter Travis and Aaron McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers ere Chad Chapman, Cole Chapman, Paxton Jordan, Ray Lopez and Danny Potts.
