Gilleland

A visitation for Floye Nell Gilleland, 86, of Rockdale was held Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Phillips & Luckey

Funeral Home in Rockdale. Graveside services followed at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale with D r . G r e g o r y Nichols officiating. Mrs. Gilleland passed away Wednesday, April 29, at Winnie L Nursing Home in Cameron.

She was born on June 19, 1933, in the Tracy community of Milam County, the daughter of Garland L. and Alice Iona (Reed) Caffey.

She graduated in 1950 from Sharp High School.

On July 1, 1951, she married T.F. Gilleland in the Tracy community.

Mrs. Gilleland was a homemaker and had worked at Citizens Bank in Cameron.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Rockdale and a member of the Rock dale Country Club, where she won club championships several times, and anything her children were involved in.

Mrs. Gilleland had a deep love for all of her family.

She enjoyed playing golf, league bowling, going to casinos with her friends, and watching her grandkids and great-grandkids in any sports they played.

She loved being called “Nanny” by her family and by special ones that just called her that… you know who you are!

Mrs. Gilleland was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, T.F. Gilleland; a son, Timothy Lane Gilleland; a grandson, John Robinson; her parents, Garland and Iona Caffey; and a brother, Clifford Caffey.

Survivors are a son, Randy Gilleland of College Station; a daughter, Suzanne Clark and husband Clift of Rockdale; six grandchildren, Trey Clark and wife Sharon, Chad Clark and wife Kelly, Cody Clark and wife Tami, Lyndi Birkhead and husband Jared, Cody Robinson and wife Teresa, Shelley Beall and husband Monte; 14 great-grandchildren, Hunter and Carlee Clark, J.T. and Easton Clark, Case, Cal and Cope Clark, Brooke, Bailey and Bowen Birkhead, Emily and Kendall Robinson, Bryce and Baden Beall; a special daughter-in-law, Lynn Gilleland of Anderson; and her sisters-in-law, Joy Caffey of Rockdale and Betty Sue Wolf of Grand Junction, Colorado; along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Pallbearers were Trey Clark, Jared Birkhead, Chad Clark, Cody Robinson, Cody Clark and Monte Beall.
