Carl Glenn Goetz, 77, of Thorndale died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at his residence in Thorndale.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Sharp Cemetery in Sharp.
Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Mr. Goetz was born Oct. 30, 1942, to Herman Otto and Lena Mary (Fick) Goetz in the Tracy community of Milam County.
On Nov. 9, 1963, he married Betty Dragoo in Belton.
Mr. Goetz worked at Alcoa for 31 years as an environmental operator until his retirement in 1993.
He loved his family and enjoyed farming and his cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lena Goetz; a son, Glenn Goetz Jr. on Sept. 2, 2011; and a brother, Herman Thomas Goetz on June 12, 1997.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Goetz of Thorndale; two sons, Casey Goetz and wife Joann of Lexington, Cary Goetz and fiancé Jonica of Thorndale; two daughters, Carol Bergstad and husband Bill of Townsend, Montana, Connie Creamer and husband Chris of Leander; a brother, David Goetz and wife Theresia of Thorndale; and two sisters, Darlyn Boney and husband Bill of Salado, Linda Martin of Lexington; also, 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are his grandsons, Chase Goetz, Nicholas Goetz, Noah Elm, Cary J. Creamer, Cole Bergstad, Justin Bergstad and Tom Bergs-tad.
