Gregoria (Gloria) Rubio Flores

Gregoria (Gloria) Rubio Flores, 76, of Rockdale passed away on Jan. 3, 2025.

Gloria was born April 20, 1948, to Pedro and Julia Rubio in Louise.

She graduat ed f rom Milano High School in 1967.

Gloria worked for Doyle and Doris McCoy for several years then as a custodian in the Rockdale School district for 19 years. She retired in 2011.

After retiring, Gloria loved spending time with friends and family and enjoyed visiting the Rockdale Senior Citizens Center.

Her greatest joys and accomplishments were her children, grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. She loved them immensely.

She is survived by her son, Felix Flores Jr. and wife Norma; son Jon Flores and wife Crissy; daughter Lizza Flores; grandson Nathaniel Flores; granddaughters Shauntel Flores, Olivia Flores, Gabriella Lopez and Gianna Lopez; great-granddaughter Indie Rose Harris; brothers Catarino Rubio, Cornado Rubio, Ramiro Rubio, Quinto Rubio and wife Lou Ann; and sister Julia Molina.

Gloria also leaves behind her extended family and friends who will miss her greatly.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Julia Rubio; brother Primitivo Rubio, brother Domingo Rubio; sister Delma Sanchez;sister Brigida Tomasa Meza and brother-in-law Doroteo H. Meza; sister Emilia Ramona Alvarado and brother-in-law Miguel Alvarado; sisters-in-law Zoila Rubio and Maria Rubio; half-brothers Sostenes Rubio and Pete Rubio Sr. and wife Mercedes Rubio.

A visitation for Gloria will be held at Phillip & Luckey Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10. A Rosary will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11,. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Rockdale.
