Earl Wayne Giffith, 83, of Lexington died Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at his home in Lexington.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Adina Christian Church in Adina with Pastor Gary McManus, Daryl McCarty and Freddy Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Adina Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Adina Christian Church.

Mr. Griffith was born Feb. 20, 1936, to Elzer Emmett Griffith and Dainty Mae Simmons in Shiloh.

On Feb. 3, 1960, he married Jo Ann Haggard in Elgin. They spent 54 years together until her death on May 6, 2014.

Mr. Griffith was a teacher in public schools. He was also a cattle rancher and hard worker.

He enjoyed storytelling and his favorite thing was being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Griffith was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann “Granny” Griffith; his parents, Elzer Emmett and Dainty Mae (Simmons) Griffith; a brother, Bud Griffith; and a sister, Mary Farmer.

Survivors are his sons, Darrell Griffith and wife Kellie, Terry Griffith and wife Johnna, all of Lexington; a daughter, Kimberly Malkey and husband Edward of Warsaw, Missouri; his grandchildren, Bryan Griffith, Savannah Griffith, Timmy Griffith, Destiny Griffith, Michael Griffith, Tracy Pillack and husband Eric, Jackie King and husband Daniel, and Jessica Malkey; and his great-grandchildren, Tristan Griffith, Natalie Griffith, Ashton King, Trevor King, Morgan King, Katelyn Pillack, Beau Pillack, Coylton Malkey, Bryson Duncan, and Fayth Duncan.
