Griffith

Richard H. Griffith, 77, of Round Rock, formerly of Rockdale, died Thursday, March 19, 2020, in Austin.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Griffith was born May 2, 1942 in Houston to Kenneth and Ruby (Menn) Griffith .

He graduated from Schreiner College in Kerrville and also attended the University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Griffith had a long career in IT from the late 1960’s until retirement, with many years as a systems analyst and later as a database administrator.

Besides being an avid reader, he enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, tinkering around at the family farm, and visiting with family, friends and neighbors.

Mr. Griffith was preceded in death by his parents; his aunt and uncle (and foster parents), Lillie and Elvin Dickey; and a sister, Barbara Brinker.

Survivors are his wife, Joan Griffith of Round Rock; his sons, Robert H. Griffith of Austin, Kenneth E. Griffith and wife Donna of Bandera, Ray M. Griffith and wife Kay Lynn of Fort Stockton; his grandchildren, Bill, Ryan, Emily, Diana and Callie; and a sister, Beverly Frist of Marion, Indiana; also, 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
