Grubbs

SILSBEE—Edward “Eddie” Grubbs, 82, of Silsbee died Friday, Aug. 2, 2019.

His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont. A private family service will be at a later date in Rockdale.

Mr. Grubbs was born Nov. 11, 1936, in Rusk to Rachel Bush Grubbs and William Myrt Grubbs.

He excelled in athletics at Rockdale High School and in 1956 accepted a scholarship to Sam Houston State University, where he graduated in 1962.

Mr. Grubbs was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

He worked for Eastex Papermill and later as a pulpwood contractor and owner of Eddie’s True Value Hardware.

Mr. Grubbs was preceded in death by his parents; two granddaughters, Cristin Jeanell Grubbs and Katie Michelle Grubbs; two brothers, Joe Lynn Grubbs and Richard Eugene Grubbs; and a sister, Betty Ruth Alexander.

Survivors include his children, Grant Grubbs and wife Stephanie of Silsbee, Mandy Gross of Austin, Amber Lemons and husband Robert of Stephenville; his grandchildren, Reed and Cade Lemons, Lauren and Taylor Gross; and his siblings, John Grubbs, Tom Grubbs, Polly Smock, Linda Kieffer and Bennye Plum-lee; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
