Ethel Clark Guthrie, 92, of Tomball died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, from cancer.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery in Milam County.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11.
Mrs. Guthrie loved champagne, bird watching, sun bathing and eating cake for breakfast.
She was a hospital volunteer for over 25 years.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Her family will miss her laugh and her ability to make family gatherings so memorable, especially at Cherry Mountain.
Mrs. Guthrie was preceded in death by her husband Rev. John Allan Guthrie Sr.
Survivors are three sons, Greg Smith and wife Gloria Tobias of Grapeland, Brian Smith and Dr. Jeanne Stout of La Porte, Deacon Glenn Smith and wife Claire Paras of Bedford, Massachusetts; two stepsons, John Guthrie and wife Nancy, Gil Guthrie and wife Lizanne; her twin sister, Edna Timmerman; her grandchildren, Thea Junt, Aaron Smith, Christine Pennington, Dr. Ashley Tucker, Dr. Samantha Tutt, Anthony Smith, Alexander Smith and Rebecca Smith; her step-grandchildren Robert Guthrie, Elizabeth Guthrie, Kyle Guthrie, Zach Guthrie, Jack Guthrie and Suzannah Guthrie; and five great-grandchildren.
