Twila Harris, 67, of Rock-dale died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale.

Mrs. Harris was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Waco.

She lived in Chilton and was a graduate of Chilton High School.

On Sept. 24, 1969, she married Thomas Harris.

Twila moved to Rock-dale and was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Harris was elected Milam County Justice of the Peace, served 28 years and retired in 2012. She also served as president of the Justice of the Peace & Constable Association.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl West; a sister, Yvonne Cogle; and her mother-in-law, Nell Wheeler.

Survivors are her husband, Thomas Harris of Rockdale; a son, Thomas Harris Jr. and Nikki of Rockdale; two daughters, Tangelia Harris and Rodshea, and Terrace Mitchell and Terrell, all of Rock-dale; her mother, Miriam West of Chilton; four sisters, Shirley Pack of Waco, Kay West and Joe of Belton, Miaya Parker and Marshall of Sanger, Candy Hall and Rodney of Chilton; two brothers, Dale Robinson of Elgin, Carl West and Windy of Azel; nine grandchildren, Kelsey, Dillian, Dailynn, Kylee, Aalyiah, Slayde, Junior, Crystal and Chase; three great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Bryn’Lynn and Rhett; and two brothers-in-law, Wendell Harris and Robin of Chilton, and John Wheeler; also, numerous nieces and nephews.
