Helen Marie Jones

Helen Marie Jones, 84, of Austin, formerly of Rock-dale, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019, at her home in Austin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Phillips & Luckey in Rockdale. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Visitation is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones was born Aug. 8, 1935, to M.C. White and Alberta Mitchell in Minerva.

She grew up in Minerva and later moved to Rock-dale.

She married Ollie Jones and together they had 11 children.

Mrs. Jones was a homemaker as well as a CNA for over 20 years.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Baptist Church and later became a member of New Jerusalem.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Jones; her mother, Alberta Quigley; her father, M.C. White; her stepfather, Calvin Quigley; two brothers, M.C. White Jr. and Robert White; a sister, Lillie Ross; a daughter, Mary Louise Jones; a nephew, Gary White; and a niece, Helen White.

Survivors are her children, Carl Jones, Ivy Jones, Vicky Jones, Regina May-field, Kathleen Jones, Wayne Jones, Calvin Jones, Darrel Jones, Veronica Crumpton and Janice Jones; a sister, Carolyn Cooper and husband Donald; a sister-in-law, Sallie White; a brother-in-law, Roy Ross; and a special cousin, Elbert Tindle; also, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel O’Neal, Billy Tindle, Bobby Tindle, Vernon Moore, De Michael Ross and Kolby White.

Honorary pallbearers are Lawrence Lowe, Kortlin White, Jamaal Jones, Winston Nelson Jr. and Frederick Henderson.
