Hromcik

Daniel J. Hromcik, 83, of Rockdale passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Taylor.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Father Darrell Kostiha officiating. Burial will be at SS Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Marak.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Hromcik was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Cameron to Joe and Christine (Vaculin) Hromcik.

He graduated from Cameron High School in 1955.

He served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1962.

On June 18, 1960, he married Imelda Teltow in the Corn Hill community near Jarrell.

Mr. Hromcik worked 33 years as a mechanic with TXU Power Plant, retiring in October 1992 as a supervisor.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale.

Mr. Hromcik was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Christine Hromcik, and a brother, Frank Hromcik and wife Frances.

Survivors are his wife, Imelda Hromcik of Rockdale; their children, Roxanne and Judd Moody of College Station, Dwayne and Gaylen Hromcik of Rockdale, Nina and Tom Rehak of Troy; a brother, Joe and Dixie Hromcik of Great Falls, Montana; his sisters, Lillian Givens of Taylor, Elizabeth and Rudolph Tepera of Cameron, Margaret and Jerry Wade of Bryan; and five grandchildren, Justin Hromcik, Julie Hromcik, Grace Dusek, Grant Dusek and wife Amanda, and Emma Hromcik.

Pallbearers are Justin Hromcik, Grant Dusek, George Dohnalik, Joseph Vaculin, Larry Whiteley, Tony Dohnalik, Gene Vaculin and Tommy Vaculin.
