James Allen Moses

Funeral services for James Allen Moses, 57, of Thorndale will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will be at Salty Cemetery in the Salty community.

Visitation is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the funeral home.

Mr. Moses died Thursday, Sept. 26, at his home near Thorndale.

He was born July 26, 1962, in Taylor to James A. and Carmon (Parker) Moses.

Mr. Moses lived all of his life in the Thorndale area and was a graduate of Thorndale High School.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator with Mine Services in Rockdale.

Mr. Moses enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and visiting with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, James on July 29, 2001; his mother, Carmon on Feb. 5, 2004; and a sister, Mary Ann Moses on Dec. 24, 1988.

Survivors are his uncle, Clifford Parker of Taylor; also, a niece and a host of cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be Avery Weaver, Jacob Hall, Jackie Moses, Ricky Moses, Jimmie Dale Robertson and David Parker. Honorary pallbearer is John Weaver.
