Eveyln D. Janak, 88, of Rockdale died Friday, May 28, 2021.

Rosary was recited Tuesday, June 1, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.

Mass was held Wednesday, June 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale with Father Pedro Castillo and Bishop Gary Janak officiating.

Burial was at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Frenstat.

Mrs. Janak was born July 9, 1931, to Louis Rehak and Mary Rabel Rehak in Hallettsville.

She married Charlie Janak on Jan. 30, 1951, and worked various jobs while he was in the service.

They settled in Rockdale, after Mr. Janak received a job with Alcoa in November 1954.

She enjoyed working side-by-side on the family farm with her husband tending to the cows, planting large gardens, and raising chickens.

Mrs. Janak enjoyed baking kolaches and cooking family dinners for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren every weekend.

She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale and was an honorary member of the St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society, where she was an active member for many years helping with altar duties, Christmas bazaars and bereavement luncheons.

Mrs. Janak was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Janak; her parents, Louis Rehak and Mary Rabel Rehak; her sons, Mark and Michael Janak; and a sister, Georgia Ludwig.

Survivors are a grandson, Wesley Janak and wife Jessica; a granddaughter, Chrystie Butler and husband Clint; her great-grandkids, Caylee and Case Butler, Luke Janak, Brayden and Gracey Burns; her nieces, Barbara Grahmann and Debra Wick; and a nephew. Anthony Ludwig, along with their spouses and children.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale and/or the St. Joseph Ladies Altar Society.
