Joyce Lafferty Crowder

Joyce Lafferty Crowder, 76, of Round Rock, formerly of Rockdale, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, in Hutto.

She was born Jan. 16, 1947, to Will iam Lafferty and Dorothy Willis.

Ms. Crowder grew up in Hearne but lived most of her life in Rockdale and always considered it home.

She worked for Texas Animal Health Commission in Rockdale.

Ms. Crowder was a special grandmother, devoted daughter and mother, a loving sister and aunt, and a kind friend. She loved spending time with her family, especially her four grandchildren.

She enjoyed crocheting and Ms. Crowder gifting beautiful blankets in various colors and designs, studying the Bible and feeding birds and squirrels from her balcony.

Ms. Crowder was preceded in death by her parents, William Lafferty and Dorothy Falco; a brother, Bill Lafferty; and a great-niece, Emily Nichols.

Survivors are a son, Jason Crowder and wife Jennifer and four grandchildren, Aidan, Ethan, Waverly and Willow, of Round Rock; three sisters, Particia Seligmann and husband Steve of Ramona, California, Bonnie Wachel and husband Billy, and Dottie Snell, all of Bremond; a brother, Mickey Lafferty and wife Sandy of Hesperia, California; and a very special stepmother, Kathleen Lafferty of Troy, Kansas.
