Kortis

Alfred George Kortis Jr. died Thursday, March 25, 2021, in Bryan.

Services were held Monday, March 29, at Rest Ever Memorial Park in Bryan.

He was born in Caldwell on July 31, 1937.

Mr. Kortis graduated from C.H. Yoe High School in Cameron.

His career was spent at Alcoa’s Rockdale Works, and he retired after 31 years service.

Mr. Kortis was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Paralee Kortis; his parents, Alfred Sr. and Georgia Kortis; and two brothers, Johnny and George Kortis.

Survivors are a daughter, Margaret Davis of Oklahoma; a grandson, Brad Downey and wife Vanessa of Tyler; a great-granddaughter, Ryann Downey of Tyler; two brothers, Clem Kortis and wife Mary Ann of Gatesville, Kenneth Kortis and wife Alison of Wisconsin; a sister, Georgia Kortis Capps and husband Neil of Buckholts; and two sisters-in-law, Wanda Kortis (George) of Temple and Marie Kortis (Johnny) of Cameron.
