Judith (Judi) Evelyn Love Kruse passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband, children and sisters.

Judi was born on July 30, 1954, in Taylor to Clyde M. and Carrie Mae Bingham Love.

She was a graduate of Rockdale Mrs. Kruse High School.

On Oct. 20, 1973, Judi and Paul M. Kruse were married in Bryan.

This year, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Judi was a devoted wife and mother. She was a very active member of St. John’s Methodist Church and she loved her church family.

Judi was involved in her community and regularly volunteered for Rockdale Christian Services.

Judi is survived by her husband, Paul, as well as their two children, Eric Kruse of Rockdale, Lindsey and husband Blaine Walton of Katy, and grandson Kaden Kruse of Georgetown.

Judi is also survived by four sisters, Nancy Bales of Devine, Dottie Stevenson of Lakeway, Elaine and husband Bob Merritt of Sharp, Susie and husband Bill Dixon of Georgetown; two brothers, Leon and wife Coty Love of Buckholts, and Lynn Love of Sharp; her brothers-in-law, Peter Kruse of Bryan and Robert and wife Sylvia Kruse of Bryan, as well as her sisters-in-law Mary Krause of College Station and Janice and husband Ravi Devulapalli of Fort Worth; and by many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

Judi was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Carrie Love; father-in-law and motherin- law, William and Lillian Kruse; also sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbye and Joe Runnels and Florene and J.D. Acord; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmie and Barbara Love, and Dennis and Zelma Love; brothers-in-law Larry Bales and Martin Stevenson; baby brother Bryan Neal Love; sisters-in-law and brothers-inlaw Susan and Allen Blevins, and Margaret and Jack Finke.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Services celebrating Judi’s life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, at St. John’s Methodist Church, 1700 Hillcrest Dr., Rockdale. Pastor Madison Garcia- Tabor and Pastor John D. Stanislaw will be officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Lilac Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Kaden Kruse, Wade Acord, Clint Merritt, Brad Merritt, John Stevenson, Ben Dixon, Zac Dixon, and Matt Merritt.
