Royce Lee “Bo” Lawrence, 77, of Taylor passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Ascension Seton in Round Rock.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. The visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Scott Fischer, Russell Fischer, Buddy Lawrence and Stephen Tucker.

Bo was born on Aug. 17, 1946, to Garlon and Ann (Kunz) Lawrence in the Tracy community. He grew up in Tracy in a close-knit musical family.

He began school in Sharp before transferring to Rockdale High School in 1961.

Not long after that, he met Rosemary “Ro” Cumbie at a school dance. The two of them fell in love and were together ever since.

He graduated from Rockdale in 1964. He went on to the University of Texas before graduating from the University of Houston with a bachelor of science in technology leadership.

On June 6, 1970, Bo and Ro were married at Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale.

Royce enjoyed doing word puzzles, reading, gardening/ yard work, singing, and playing his guitar and harmonicas. He loved meeting new people; he never met a stranger. He truly loved his family and enjoyed taking care of Rosemary. He loved all the time he was able to spend visiting and socializing with his family and friends, and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garlon and Ann Lawrence; parents-in-law, Grady and Louise Cumbie; siblings, Robert Lawrence, Garlon Lawrence Jr., Peggy Lawrence Fischer, Delores Lawrence Divin; and brother-in-law William Beightol (Ret. Major).

Bo is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rosemary Lawrence; children Adam Jarrett Lawrence and wife Rachael of Benbrook, Logan Lawrence and wife Bridget of Buda, Kelly Williams and husband Scott of Pflugerville; brother Allan Lawrence and Nancy Coleman; brother-in-law Al Divin; seven grandchildren, Austin Lawrence, Tatum Lawrence, Westin Lawrence, Allyson Lawrence, Olivia Lawrence, Grady Williams, Jackson Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
